It’s the start of the spring semester at UNR. That means that we’re starting up meetings again!
Just like last semester, meetings are going to be held on Friday, at 7:00 PM in room 201 of the Ansari Business building. This will happen every Friday until the end of the semester in May.

SNAFU - Reno's Anime Con · Jan 11, 08:01 PM
Sierra Nevada Anime Fans Unite (or “SNAFU”) Con is going to be our local anime convention! That’s right, an actual anime con here in Reno!!!
SNAFU will be the host for Shadows this year, which means that Shadows is going to be inside of SNAFU con so buying registration for SNAFU Con gets you into Shadows 2010. There will NOT be separate cover!

I know SNAFU is looking for unpaid staff and volunteers, so check them out. The first staff meeting will be this Saturday, 4pm at the Denny’s in Sparks, off McCarren. Please let them know if you can make it (chair@snafucon.com).

JSAN Summer Festival · Sep 11, 03:10 PM
Tomorrow afternoon, Saturday, September 12, JSAN will be having their Summer Festival on the Knowledge Center lawn.
This event will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. In the past there’s been shaved ice, takoyaki, and other Japanese treats, live music, and lots of fun activities.
It’s probably a good idea to get there a little early, considering how crowded the festival was last year. You’ll want to bring 5-10 dollars to spend on tickets for the various booths.

Hey everyone,
Just to let you know summer meetings exist! YAY!
They’re being held on friday nights (around 7pm) in the Ansari Business Bldg. room 201 on the UNR campus. We want to see you there and would love you to bring a friend, and some anime.
Also, a lot of progress on the planning of this years Shadows has been made. So, come to a meeting or visit the forums to help us make it the best shadows ever and find out whats happening ahead of time.

Anime and Manga Society of UNR
Spring Semester is starting up, and so here comes the AMS to rescue your sanity! Meaning we will be having meetings again in the same old place and at the same old time.
For those that met with us last semester, this means you have no excuse to not show up (because we love you). For newbies, and we encourage newbies, this means the AMS will be meeting on Saturdays in room 106 of the Frandsen Humanities Building at 2 pm. Meetings generally last till 5 pm or later.
Thanks everyone in advance, and we hope for your help to continue making this society a better one.
P.S. Bring something licensed you’d like to show, and some ideas for our new semester.

We aren’t having Wintermester meetings, but I wanted to make sure everyone got a chance to let us know when they would like our spring semester meetings to be.
So far we’ve got a lot of people already saying that the Saturday meetings worked out great this semester and we should keep them that way, but I wanted to give a chance to everyone else to provide input.
So… When is best for you??

Society Promotion and Party Tonight 12/10/08 · Dec 10, 02:30 PM
Tonight, dead day for you UNR kids, the Anime and Manga Society needs the support of our clubs members, and anyone else who wants to help, for an amazing evening. First we plan to solicit, capture, gather, et cetera new members for our club, or just inform people we exist. That or we can invite them to meetings in the future and the second phase of our plan. That second phase of our mission is to "Party" into tomorrow. We will use all available means: including soda, Shadows candy, insanity, Anime, music, ect. Thank you all in advance for your support, now for the difficult stuff.We will be meeting in front of the Joe Crowly Student Union about 6 pm then we’ll migrate into the building at 6:30 pm to room 320 JCSU. Please note we have the run of the room till midnight, although how long we use it is completely up to everyone there. If possible, please bring some money to toss towards pizza, or possibly something else for the group, we would like this event to be successful and not take all the precious little coin we have. In addition please bring any Anime that you want might want to show.
