Attention, Otaku of all ages!

April 3, our new event Otakupalooza is coming! Join us for Rock Band competition and win wonderful prizes. Also, show off your ad libbing and writing skill with Make that Anime. Got old anime or swag? Sell it here at our Otakupalooza Swap Meet. Our very own Origami the Ninja will be here for all your ninja related questions in his very own ask a ninja booth. Ever wanted to perform an operation on a mecha? You can do that too! Are you just plain hungry? We’ll be making food all night! So join us for all these events and more Saturday, April 3 from 3-9PM at the William J. Raggio building on the UNR campus!

Hi, everybody! It’s a new semester, so it’s time for us to re-register as an ASUN club. We need your help! If you are a UNR student, please log in to your OrgSync account (or register if you don’t have one) and add the Anime and Manga Society to your list of Clubs and Organizations.

You can do it right now! Go here: http://www.orgsync.com/

Register for OrgSync if you haven’t yet.
Click on “Login” at the upper right.
Select University of Nevada, Reno under Custom Login, and click Sign-on.
Enter your NetID and password.
You will be redirected to your OrgSync profile.
Click the button that says “Join an Org” on the upper left.
Click the “Organizations” button across from “University of Nevada, Reno”.
Click on “Campus Life” under “Browse by category”.
Click the Join button next to Anime and Manga Society.

This is important because we need at least 10 UNR undergraduate students listed as AMS members in order to be accepted as an ASUN club. Since we meet at UNR and use university rooms and sometimes event supplies, we want to be recognized as an ASUN club.

Spring Semester Meetings · 55 days ago

It’s the start of the spring semester at UNR. That means that we’re starting up meetings again!
Just like last semester, meetings are going to be held on Friday, at 7:00 PM in room 201 of the Ansari Business building. This will happen every Friday until the end of the semester in May.

SNAFU - Reno's Anime Con · 63 days ago

Sierra Nevada Anime Fans Unite (or “SNAFU”) Con is going to be our local anime convention! That’s right, an actual anime con here in Reno!!!

SNAFU will be the host for Shadows this year, which means that Shadows is going to be inside of SNAFU con so buying registration for SNAFU Con gets you into Shadows 2010. There will NOT be separate cover!

I know SNAFU is looking for unpaid staff and volunteers, so check them out. The first staff meeting will be this Saturday, 4pm at the Denny’s in Sparks, off McCarren. Please let them know if you can make it (chair@snafucon.com).
